James “Jim” W. Earnhart Sr., 74 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on November 22, 1944 in Beatrice to Wayne and Irene (Willet) Earnhart. Jim graduated from Liberty High School. He married Joyce Mohling on July 2, 1965. She passed away on December 7, 2002. Jim married Kristie Abbott on October 15, 2005. He worked for Dempster Industries for 37 years as a Plant Manager and retired from ExMark after 10 years as the Welding/PCD Supervisor. Jim enjoyed coaching various youth sports, volunteering at the Homestead National Monument where he was a key part of the Dempster Industry display, hunting, fishing, gardening and always putting his family first where he never missed the kids’ events.
Jim is survived by his wife, Kristie; daughter, Jeanne Hamm and husband Jay of Beatrice; son, James Jr. and wife Amy of Plymouth; step-daughter, Kari Janssen and husband Scott of Beatrice; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Donna Payne and husband Dale of Independence, Kansas, Janet Knowles and husband Jim of Axtell, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1st wife, Joyce Earnhart.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Interment will follow in the Wymore Cemetery in Wymore. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in Charge of arrangements.
