James A. Albritton

James A. Albritton, 93 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. He was born on August 8, 1924 in Oneco, Florida to Robert and Tavy (Earnest) Albritton. James retired from the United States Army after serving from January 13, 1943 to September 3, 1979. He married Florence Head on August 3, 1947. They lived in many places including France, Germany, California and Texas and retired in Sarasota, Florida until moving to Beatrice in 2003 to be closer to family. He was a member of Christ Community Church and the Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion in Beatrice. James enjoyed Florida Gator football, fishing, traveling, serving his country in the Army, telling stories, being part of the Royal Rangers and especially spending time with family.

James is survived by a son, Scott Albritton and wife Charla of Beatrice; grandchildren, Dan Crawford and wife Lori of Beatrice and their children, Ella, Shelton and Boston, Michelle Goeking and husband Ed of Fairbury and their children, Liam and Tatum, Kayla Klar and husband Ben of Kansas City, Missouri and their children Elliot and Ingrid, Anna Bartels and husband Logan of Lincoln; Kelsey Crawford of Beatrice; brother, Donald Albritton and wife Dit of Texas; sister-in-law, Ila Cribb and husband Carl of Alabama; former son-in-law, Tracy Crawford of Beatrice; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence on May 18, 2017; and daughter, Evie Crawford in 2013.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, August 3, 2018 at Christ Community Church in Beatrice with Pastor Jack Magness officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in the Countryside Cemetery northwest of Ellis. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Countryside Cemetery in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
