George Henry Mentgen

George Henry Mentgen, 87, Beatrice died Friday, September 07, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice.   He was born June 14, 1931 in Lincoln, NE.  George married Rosanna Mae Novotny May 7, 1953 at the courthouse in Beatrice.  He was foreman for Norris Public Power until he retired in 1993.  He was a member of the Eagles Club in Beatrice and served in the Army National Guard from 1951 to 1953. He enjoyed camping, fishing, having coffee at McDonald’s and loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Al Mentgen and wife Candy of Beatrice; daughter, Debra Seitz and husband Arlo of Columbus, NE; grandchildren, Heather Dickson and husband Andi of St. Louis Park, MN, Ashley Mentgen-Duff and husband Jason of Beatrice, Daryl Seitz of Lincoln, Adam Mentgen of Kansas City, MO, Kyler Robertson of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Neeley Duff of Beatrice, Tory and Aden Dickson of St. Louis Park, MN; 3 sisters; nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George L. and Florence (Laffrey) Mentgen; wife, Rosanna Mae Mentgen; daughter, Connie Robertson; brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathee Forrest officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice.  A family prayer service will be held 10:15 a.m., Tuesday at the church.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the mortuary, and one hour preceding the services.
