George F. Maschmeier

George F. Maschmeier, 92, Beatrice, NE died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Whispering Winds Cottage, Beatrice.  He was born December 7, 1925 rural Beatrice to Fred and Lavina (Rahe) Maschmeier.  He married Wilma Bishop, April 19, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Beatrice they celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2017. George worked as a printer 16 years for Bates Printing in Beatrice and then was a carpenter for Commonwealth Electric in Lincoln.  He was a member, past elder and trustee of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Beatrice. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, racing and cards.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma of Beatrice; daughter, Karen Seger and husband John of Beatrice; son, Tim Maschmeier and wife Susan of Beatrice; grandchildren, Cindy Swanzy and husband Val of Beatrice, Troy Coudeyras and wife Laura of Appleton, WI, Joshua Maschmeier and wife Nicole of Omaha, NE; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Leo Maschmeier and wife Frances of Gering, NE; nieces; nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kay Lynn Maschmeier; sister, Lillie Mae Lillie and husband Ray; and brother, Fredrick Maschmeier.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday November 23, 2018 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Beatrice with Pastor Joshua Hillmann, officiating. A family prayer will be held at 9:45 a.m. in the church basement. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Visitation will be held at Harman-Wright Mortuary, Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. then at the church one hour preceding services.
