Generose "Gene" (Denning) Bender

Generose “Gene” Bender, 83 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. She was born in Ellis County, Kansas to John and Rosa (Klaus) Denning. Gene was a waitress at Sirloins and More in Beatrice for many years. She enjoyed NASCAR, crossword puzzles, flowers, gardening, Husker football, western movies, family and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Gene is survived by her children, Susan Frase and husband Rodney of Beatrice, Patrick Bender and wife Susan of Dunn, North Carolina, Lori Bender and special friend Jason Hatley of Beatrice; grandchildren, Brent Ackerman and special friend Hollee Pomazyl, Brandi Franzen and husband Samuel, Brock Ackerman, Jordan Bender and special friend Brandi McCarthy, Trenten Fugett, Logan Bender; numerous great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; brother, Virgil Denning and wife Dee of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Patty Denning of Denver, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Cletus, Melvin and Harry Denning.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
