Frieda Sohl, Beatrice, NE, was born March 28, 1916 on a farm north of Herkimer, KS to Ernest and Emma (Dierking) Bluhm. She was brought into God’s Kingdom by Holy Baptism on April 9, 1916, at Zion Lutheran Church in Herkimer, KS, Rev. H.C. Martings. After moving with her parents to a farm south east of Odell, NE she attended Bethlehem Lutheran School, and made public confession of her faith in the rite of confirmation on April 13, 1930, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bremen, KS, with Rev. J.V. Kauffeld officiating. Her memory verse was Isaiah 54:10. She married Alvin Sohl on Jan. 1, 1944 at Bethlehem Church with Pastor Rev. O.A. Bohnert officiating. Frieda moved with her husband to Odell in 1964, transferring their membership to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Odell in January of 1965. She was active in the Ladies Aid and L.W.M.L. In 1995 Frieda moved to Beatrice, transferring her membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church. The last 15 years she spent at Samaritan Springs and Good Samaritan where she was cared for by a loving and caring staff. She was called in to God’s eternal Kingdom on July 28th, 2018 attaining the age of 102.

Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Emma Bluhm; her husband, of nearly 52 years Alvin on Oct. 20, 1995; brother, Gilbert Bluhm.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Florence Bluhm of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 31, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Tim Brisbois officiating. A family prayer service will be held 10:15 a.m. in the church basement. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Bremen, KS.
