Dorothy Marie Paulsen Bates

Dorothy Marie Paulsen Bates 91 years of age, of Redford, Michigan died on July 26, 2017.  Born on August 3, 1925 to William and Lucille Paulsen of Beatrice, NE.  She was a 1942 graduate of Beatrice High School.  A longtime resident of Michigan, she had worked as a secretary for the steel industry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Bates and brother, William A. Paulsen.

She is survived by her one son, William E. Bates of Redford, MI, and four daughters, Dorothy Caton (David) of Erwin, TN, Sharon York (Terry) of High Point, NC, JoAnne Beck (Jim) of Walled Lake, MI, and Barbara Robbins (Richard) of Grand Rapids, MI.  She had six grandchildren (Amber, Jonathan, Eric, Wil, Sara, and Megan) and two great grandchildren (Casmer and Arya).

A private inurnment will be arranged at a later date at the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, NE. Final arrangements were made with Harman Wright Mortuary of Beatrice, NE.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to local humane societies and/or animal shelters.
