Donald A. Wiemers, 80 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center in Beatrice. He was born on April 4, 1938 near Marysville, Kansas to Robert and Marie (Ubben) Wiemers. Donald graduated from Beatrice High School in 1956 and served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960. He married Marcia Partridge on October 1, 1963 in Wymore. Donald worked for the Beatrice Board of Public Works in the electric department for 40 years retiring on August 31, 2001. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Bitting-Norman Post#27 of the American Legion. Donald enjoyed working in the yard, reading and spending time with his children and grandchildren in anything they were involved with.
Donald is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughter, Pamela Borgman and husband Brad of Beatrice; son, Anthony Wiemers and wife Emily of Omaha; 4 grandchildren, Amber Bauman and special friend Cody Stiefvater, Terran Wiemers and wife Emily, Jarett Wiemers and fiancée Kira VanCleve, Kathryn Wiemers; 3 step grandchildren, Nicole Nelson, Lance Borgman and wife Becky, Chad Borgman; great grandchild, Izel Bauman; several step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elaine Roberts of Beatrice, Anita Hansen and husband Howard of Omaha; 2 brothers-in-law, Ronald Partridge and wife Laurie of Folsom, California, Gary Partridge of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dale Wiemers, Nadine Mullen and Richard, Merle Wiemers and Marilyn; an infant brother; brother-in-law, Paul “Kenny” Roberts; and sister-in-law, JoAnne Partridge.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Leah Lawson officiating. Interment with military rites will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 AM Wednesday in the church chapel. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice and one hour preceding services Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Backpack Program, the Community Food Pantry or St. John Lutheran Church in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
