Debora Jean (Fanders) Hanke

Debora Jean (Fanders) Hanke, 59, Beatrice, NE, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the University Medical Center in Omaha, NE. She was born March 29, 1958 in Beatrice to Eldon and Marylyn (Williss) Fanders.  Debora graduated from Tri County High School in 1976 and was on the track team, placing at State in the shot put. She was baptized at the Hope UCC Church, rural Harbine, NE and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Plymouth, NE.  She worked for American Tool/Irwin until 2002. Debora enjoyed being with her friends and family. She cared for her grandchildren and attended many of their activities.  She often would say “I live for my kids and my grandkids”.

Survivors include children, Heather Russell and husband Justin of Hallam, NE, Justin Hanke and wife Rose of Des Moines, IA, and Tara Hanke of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Simon, Ein and Aurora Russell, and Oliver Hanke; mother, Marylyn Fanders of Plymouth; brothers, Gary Fanders and wife Danette of Beatrice and Greg Fanders and wife Connie of Adams, NE; sister, Patty Fanders of Moberly, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Fanders.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel in Beatrice with Pastor David Bigley officiating.  Burial will be in the Hope Church Cemetery, rural Harbine. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Plymouth, with the family greeting friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Then visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the Mortuary in Beatrice.
