Connie Faye (Ames) Janssen

Connie Faye Janssen, 71, Beatrice died Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Bryan Medical Center-West.  She was born September 7, 1946 in Beatrice to Jesse and Evelyn (Wilhelm) Ames.  Connie married Robert Janssen October 4, 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice. She graduated from Beatrice High School, worked for Dempsters, Totes Systems, Grandma’s Fruitcakes, Good Samaritan and then retired from the Homestead House. She had a great love for children having an in home daycare, babysitting all of her grandchildren and giving them her unconditional love. Connie enjoyed camping, fishing, crosswords, Scrabble, was a Husker fan, and was a wonderful cook that loved to feed her family. She had a strong work ethic, a good spirit and a good sense of humor. Connie was a Girl Scout den mother and enjoyed going to her children and grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include her husband, Robert of Beatrice; daughter, Deana Janssen and spouse Amy of Beatrice; son, Scott Janssen and wife Kari of Beatrice; grandchildren, Andrew Husa of Lincoln, Jordan Husa of Columbia, MO, Claira Janssen of Beatrice and Christopher Janssen of Beatrice; step-grandchildren, Linden Keane of Minneapolis, MN, Christian Keane of Beatrice, and Faith Keane of Beatrice, brothers, Dave Ames of Norfolk, NE and Larry Ames of Beatrice; sister, Judy Prebyl and husband Dennis of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Karen Sorenson and husband Lon of Lincoln, nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Evelyn Ames; daughter, Renda Husa and husband Joe; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald Buss; parents-in-law, William and Katie Janssen; nieces, Janelle and Dawn Buss.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice with Pastor Brett Klingenberg officiating. Burial will be in the Odell Czech Cemetery, Odell, NE.   Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, and one hour preceding the services.
