Beverly J. (Carrel) Philippi, 78 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 12, 1939 in Beatrice to William and Lucinda (Newell) Carrel. Beverly attended Beatrice High School before marrying Clair “Tom” Philippi on January 1, 1956. They moved to Germany while Tom was in the military before moving to Lincoln and raising their family. Beverly worked at Dairy Queen, Wonderbread and as a custodian for ISCO Industries for many years. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Beatrice. Beverly enjoyed coloring, hosting family dinners, everything Tom was involved with, her dog Shadow and had a personality that shined.
Beverly is survived by 2 daughters, Elizabeth Ann Duffek of Lincoln, Peggy Sue Philippi of Beatrice; son, Thomas Philippi of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Kadlec and husband Alvin of Beatrice; brother, John Carrel and wife Sue of Beatrice; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clair “Tom” Philippi on November 28, 2015; brother, Ron Carrel; and her beloved dog, Shadow.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Westside Baptist Church in Beatrice with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
