Beverly Jean (Nispel) Malchow

Beverly Jean (Nispel) Malchow, 80, Beatrice, NE died Monday, December 11, 2017 at her home.  She was born October 7, 1937 at Beatrice to Herbert Nispel and Ruby (Moslander) Wood. She was raised from 3 months old by her Aunt, Mary Nispel. Bev grew up NW of Plymouth, NE, attended District 76, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1955. She married Armin Malchow in 1956, to this union 4 children were born. She moved to Beatrice in 1958. Bev worked for the Plymouth News, the Daily Sun, then Beatrice State Developmental Center for 17 ½ years. She is a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice, the VFW and the Schopp-Ewing-Nispel Legion Aux. #243. Bev enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, putting puzzles together watching the Atlanta Braves and the Cornhuskers.

 Survivors include daughters, Judy Huenink and husband Nick of Beatrice, Joyce Belding and husband Myron of Beatrice, Carol Cunningham of Barneston, NE, son, Timothy Malchow and wife Michele of Rockport, MO, longtime friend Shirley Johnson of Beatrice, sister, Shirley Hill of Beatrice, brother, Bill Schank of Beatrice, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; aunt, Mary Nispel; Armin Malchow; granddaughters, Angela and Jennifer Frerichs; grandson, Benjamin Slaven.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Greg Gabriel officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery. Memorials are established to the family’s choice with the mortuary in charge. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Harman-Wright Mortuary and at the church one hour preceding services. A guestbook is available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
