Bernard Lynn Saltzman, 91, Beatrice passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 23, 1928 at Shickley, NE. He served in the U.S. Army from September 30, 1946 to February 19, 1948. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1948. Bernard worked in construction as a brick layer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and was a good cook. Bernard was an avid reader, a studier of the bible, and collector of antique glassware. He was a member of the Church of Christ at 7th & Bell in Beatrice, the metal detecting club in Lincoln and used his dowsing rods to locate water.
Survivors include his sister, Marguerite Hope Borden of North Hollywood, CA; several nephews and nieces; and great-nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Edith (Young) Saltzman; sister, Dixie Hageman.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel with Tom Shutts officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery, rural Pickrell, NE. The body will lie in state Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the mortuary.
