Anita L. (Lillie) Johnson

Anita L. (Lillie) Johnson, 69 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on October 3, 1950 in Beatrice to Harlan and Bertha (Breunsbach) Lillie. Anita graduated from Beatrice High School in 1969. She married LaVern Johnson on November 11, 1972. Anita graduated from Joseph’s College of Beauty and operated her own beauty salon. For several years, LaVern and Anita ran Country Cookin in Beatrice and BJ’s Café in Wymore. They were foster parents for over 10 years having over 50 foster kids. Anita enjoyed casinos, BINGO, her pets and camping.

Anita is survive by her brother, Bill Lillie and wife Judy; foster son, Ryan Zahm; foster grandson, Michael Brooks; brothers-in-law, Galen Johnson and wife Marlene, all of Beatrice, Roger Johnson of St. Paul, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, LaVern on April 6, 2018.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, October 25, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Beatrice Humane Society in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
