Allen L. Schroeder, 82 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. He was born in Beatrice on December 18, 1935 to Edwin and Rosa (Zimmermann) Schroeder. Allen graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952 and then attended Fairbury Junior College. He married Elaine “Liz” Heiliger at the Church of Peace in Plymouth on May 19, 1962. Allen was a manager for Sack Lumber in Plymouth, Ord and Beatrice. He served on the Tri-County School Board and was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth where he served on church council. Allen enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
Allen is survived by his wife, Elaine “Liz” Schroeder; daughters, Lisa Roseland and husband Doug of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Amy Thimm and husband Randy of Roca; sons, Tom Schroeder and wife Deb of Sioux City, Iowa, Timothy Schroeder of Beatrice; grandchildren, Brandon, Aaron and Nicole Roseland, Alex and Marcus Thimm, Jared, Jacob and Mallory Schroeder; brothers, Wayne Schroeder and wife Elaine, Gail Schroeder and wife Sharon, both of Beatrice; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Marlene Scheele and Marilyn Freese and husband Richard.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth with Pastor Fred Berger officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery west of Plymouth. A family prayer service will be held at 10 AM Saturday at the church. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice and from 1 to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Plymouth. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with the church elders in charge. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
