Allen Eugene Scheele of Lemoyne, Nebraska, formally of Plymouth, passed away at the Great Plains Hospital in North Platte, Nebraska on Sunday October 13, 2019 at the age of 82. He was born November 16, 1936 to Carl and Minnie (Marschman) Scheele of Daykin. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church of Daykin. Allen graduated from Daykin High School in 1954. He was a member of Company C 134th Infantry of Beatrice from 1954 to 1962. He worked at Farmers State Bank of Plymouth and then Farmers Coop of Plymouth until he retired in 1993. While living in Plymouth he was a member of the rural fire department, businessman’s club, school board and the village board. He was also on the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Council and a member of the original St. Paul’s radio broadcast committee. Allen was married to Marlene Schroeder in 1957. To this union four children were born. Allen and Marlene later divorced.
In the mid 1990’s he moved to Lemoyne, Nebraska where he was involved in the founding of the Lemoyne Senior Center. Allen served as the treasurer of the center for 15 years. He was an active member of the Martinview Church where he was the chairman for 8 years. He also worked as a grain inspector at the elevator in Big Springs. During his retirement he managed a trailer park near Lake McConaughy for Wayne and Joan Hansmeier. He loved camping and fishing and tending bar at Cheers. Allen married Debbie Buttermore while living in Lemoyne where he spent his remaining days taking care of many friends and extended family.
Allen is survived by his wife, Debbie of Lemoyne; children, Dianne and husband Doug Weishahn of Western, Brian and wife Sandy Scheele of Plymouth, Nancy and husband Mitch McDougall of DeWitt, Craig and wife Stephanie Scheele of Plymouth; step-daughters, Shana, Sara and Sharlene; eight grandchildren, Tyler Weishahn, Ashley Halstead, Logan Scheele, Britton Scheele, Josh McDougall, Brock McDougall, Whitney Hoffmann and Kennedy Scheele; five step-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Daryl and wife Kathy of Plymouth and Keith and wife Audrey of Sun City West, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Minnie Scheele.
