Services Traditional Funeral Service: Funeral takes place at the funeral home or church. Visitation for family and friends is held at the funeral home. Families are encouraged to bring pictures and other memorabilia to be displayed at the funeral home and church. Cremation: Cremation provides an alternative to traditional funeralization. However, the family of the loved one may still hold a service and visitation as well as gather for a ceremony. Direct Cremation: This is the simplest form of disposition. It includes no ceremonies, visitations or rites. It is handled by the funeral home. It may take place after authorization from the next of kin and after the county attorney reviews the death certificate and other necessary paperwork. Cremation with Memorial Service: A memorial service is held after the cremation takes place to offer the family and friends a means to memorialize their loved-one. It can be held at the funeral home or at your church. We offer a memorial board to post pictures and other memorabilia to be displayed at the service. Cremation with Viewing: This offers the family the option of gathering with or without religious services while still permitting the cremation to take place after the ceremony. Additional charges are incurred for embalming, use of facilities for ceremony, rental casket and any additional items requested by the family. The family is given the opportunity to gather and support each other through the grieving process as well as being able to attain closure, not always available with direct cremation. In any options selected, the family may want to choose an urn to hold the cremains.
