Irene Kathleen (Overbeck) Morrison, 84 formerly of Lincoln died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center, Auburn, Nebraska. She was born in Firth, Nebraska to Ernest and Minnie (Huls) Overbeck. She moved to a farm near Adams when she was four years old. She graduated from elementary and high school in Adams, Nebraska. After graduation she started working in Beatrice and while there she married Donald Morrison on October 22, 1950 at Beatrice, Nebraska. She had lived in Beatrice and Lincoln, in addition to California and Washington States at one time. Before retiring in 1989 she had worked in the Accounting Department of Acquilla Gas Company at Beatrice (15 yrs.) and Lincoln (11 yrs.). She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Pickrell, where she had been baptized and confirmed. Irene enjoyed sewing. Survivors are son-in- law, Steven M. Lukas of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandsons, Andrew Lukas and wife Laurence, Peter Lukas and wife, Anne, and John Lukas all of Minneapolis, Minnesota; daughter, Dianna Jeffries and husband, Clois of Clovis, New Mexico; granddaughters, Michelle Christie of Edmond, Oklahoma, Megan Jacobs of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Vicars of Martell, Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Minnie Overbeck; husband, Donald (6/24/98); sister, Esther Overbeck; brother, Rinhard Overbeck; and her daughter, Dianne Lukas (11/9/2001). Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, rural Pickrell, Nebraska with Pastor Chuck Bentjen officiating. There will be visitation at Harman-Wright Mortuary Funeral Home on Wednesday (7/28) at 9 a.m., with a short prayer service, prior to departure for the burial service at the cemetery.
