Sandra Jean (Balderson) Nedrow, 58, Beatrice, died on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Gold Crest Retirement Center, at Adams, NE. She was born on July 1, 1952 in Lincoln, NE to Merle and Margaret (Schafer) Balderson. She was a 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School; Bachelor’s Degree in Gerontology from UNL; and LPN from Southeast Community College. She had been a charge nurse at Lincoln Regional Center; had worked at Jim’s Home Health Supplies; and had been a nurse at Homestead Nursing Home. She was an accomplished vocalist and was remembered for singing in the church quartet. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beatrice; member of Altar Guild; was an avid golfer; was a track athlete; also a big Nebraska Husker football fan; and had been a member of the Nebraska Optometric Association Auxiliary. She loved nature, especially birds, and will be remembered for her kindness and smiles. Sandy especially enjoyed being a mother.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. James Nedrow of Beatrice; mother, Margaret Balderson of Lincoln; daughter, Amy Cole and husband Neal of Lincoln; son, Brian Hitz and wife Audra of Lincoln; step-daughter, Brooke Miller and husband Greg of Anthem, AZ; grandchildren, Lane and Jack Cole of Lincoln, Hadley Hitz of Lincoln; step-grandsons, Logan and Tate Miller of Anthem, AZ; mother-in-law, Mildred Fritz of Falls City; brother, Stanley Balderson of Lincoln; sisters, Marjorie Nelson and husband Louis of Phoenix, AZ, Deanna Orwen of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Larry Nedrow and wife, Charlotte of Waverly, Dr. Don Fritz and wife Lloya of Lincoln; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Merle Balderson; stepson, Blake Nedrow.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Timothy Wagner officiating. There will be a prayer service at 9:45 a.m. at the church. Private burial will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Falls City, NE. A register book will be available at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
