First Sergeant Lloyd L. Sexton, 87, of Clatonia, died on July 11, 2010, at Beatrice Manor.  He was born on June 18, 1923, in Lincoln to Arthur and Christina (Leazenby) Sexton, Sr.  He served his country for 40 years in the US Army and Nebraska National Guard, serving in WWII and Korean Conflict retiring in 1983.  He worked as an electrical foreman for Nebraska Public Power District at the Sheldon Power Plant from 1962 until he retired in 1985.  He was a member of the Bitting Norman Post 27 of the American Legion, Geddes Thober Post 1077 of Veteran’s of Foreign Wars both of Beatrice, and a member for 50 years of the George Washington Masonic Lodge 250 in Lincoln.  He loved watching NASCAR racing, Nebraska football, and his dogs and cats.

Survived by special friend, Sharon Holsing of Beatrice and her daughter, Deb Holsing-Mays and husband, Michael, of Cortland, and her mother, Katherine Moormeier of Cortland; his sisters, Patricia Hollibaugh of Lincoln, Jeannett Allsman and husband, Herschel, of Lincoln.

Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Christina (Leazenby) Sexton, Sr; brothers, Arthur Jr., Russell, Keith and Gilbert; sisters, Lola Frickel, Marjorie Burley, Ester Glover, Maxine Taborsky, Arta Allerton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice, NE, with Pastor Charles Spence officiating.  The body will lie in state at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Wednesday (7/14/2010) from 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.; on Thursday (7/15/2010) from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.  A memorial has been established to George Washington Masonic Lodge 250 (Lincoln) and Clatonia Rescue Squad with the mortuary in charge.  Burial will be in the Clatonia Cemetery, Clatonia, NE.  A guestbook is available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for signatures and messages of condolence.  Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
