Winnifred "Winnie" DoraEtta (Williams) Johnson

Winnifred “Winnie” DoraEtta (Williams) Johnson, 86 of Hastings formerly of Odell, NE died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Center in Hastings. She was born on August 7, 1929 in McMinnville, OR. Winnie graduated from Lafayette School in McMinnville, OR. She married Virgil Leo Johnson on January 31, 1948, they lived in Oregon until they moved to Beatrice in 1960, and then in 1974 they moved to Odell. She worked at Leo’s Tavern and the Tiger’s Den in Odell.

Survivors include one son, Leo; 4 daughters, Ginny, April, Melanie and Kelley; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Leo Johnson; parents, Fred and WinniMay Williams; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 1 daughter; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 sons-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at Odell United Methodist Church with Pastor Curt Magelky officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice. Visitation will be from noon to 9:00 p.m. Sunday with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and then at the church Monday one hour preceding services. A memorial is established to the Beatrice Humane Society with the mortuary in charge. www.harmanwrightmortuary.com Harman-Wright Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
