William John Marmon Jr.

William John Marmon Jr., 93 Beatrice died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Beatrice Good Samaritan Center.  He was born March 18, 1923 in Kansas City, KS.  William served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 to 1946.  He was a granite polisher for Gilman Granite Co., before he owned the Western Auto Associate Store in Beatrice from 1959 to 1977. He was a life member of the Geddes-Thober VFW Post 1077 in Beatrice.

Survivors include his children, David Marmon and wife Pamela of Belton, TX, Stephen Marmon and wife Delores of Beatrice, NE, Beverly French of Lincoln, NE, and Kevin Marmon and wife Kim of Wymore, NE; special friend, Verna Goff; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Susie (Sims) Marmon; 9 brothers and sisters.

Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2017, at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice.  The body will lie at Harman-Wright Mortuary on Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Bitting-Norman American Legion Post 27 and the National Guard Honor Guard. www.harmanwrightmortuary.com Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
