Willard Dean Dezort, 92 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home in Beatrice. He was born on April 5, 1924 in Burchard to William and Minnie (Karas) Dezort. Willard served his country in the United States Army from November 2, 1942 to September 22, 1945. He served in the 320th Glider Field Artillery Battalion under the 82nd Airborne where he received numerous honors and medals including the Bronze Star. Willard worked in construction and also for Gage County. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, husker football, gardening, cooking, rodeo’s, cards and going to the casino. Willard loved listening to, playing and teaching the accordion and polka music.

Willard is survived by a son, Roger Dezort and wife LouAnn of North Platte; daughter, Joyce Haas of Beatrice; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Dezort, Jody Morris and husband Dana, Josh Dezort and wife Melissa, Leah Stednitz and husband Dustin, Ashley Miller and husband Nathan; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Eileen Vitosh of Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Valeria Dezort; and a brother Dale Dezort.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice with Pastor David Bigley officiating. Cremation has taken place and a register book will be available from 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
