Wesley A. Sowl

Wesley A. Sowl, 74 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home in Beatrice. He was born on December 24, 1941 in Fullerton to Edward and Mabel (Nelson) Sowl. Wesley attended school in Grand Island. He married Violet Stack on August 22, 1965 in Smith Center, Kansas. Wesley’s first job was at Sunrise Bakery in Beatrice. He worked several other jobs including construction, as a custodian at Beatrice High School, for ADM Pet Nutrition in Lincoln and retired from ExMark Manufacturing in Beatrice. Wesley enjoyed watching western TV shows, socializing, and donuts and coffee.

Wesley is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Stryker and husband Thomas of Chapman, Nancy Sowl of Beatrice; 3 grandchildren, Violet Stryker, Wesley Sowl, Thomas Stryker; sister-in-law, Darlene Sowl of Grand Island; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet; 3 brothers, Edward Sowl, Jr., Robert Sowl, Fritz Sowl; and 1 infant sister.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to AseraCare Hospice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
