Virginia Eleanor (Foreman) Bever

Virginia Eleanor (Foreman) Bever, 92 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on July 4, 1924 near Blue Springs to Walter and Frances (Irvin) Foreman. The family moved in 1932 to a farm northeast of Beatrice. Virginia attended Mount Olive School and Beatrice High School, graduating in 1943. She was employed at Central Electric and Gas Company from 1942 to 1951. Virginia and Joseph “Joe” Bever were married September 16, 1951 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice. They farmed northeast of Beatrice until they retired in 1985 and moved to town. Virginia was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she was active in the Asbury-Epworth Circle and the Keystone Supper Group. She was also a member of Padio Gardeners Extension Club. Virginia was a charter member of the Gage County Historical Society where she served on the Organizing Committee and Secretary. She was on the High School Reunion Committee Class of ’43 and kept in contact with many of her former classmates. Virginia and her husband Joe delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She had a special love for her family and enjoyed time spent with her great grandchildren. Virginia enjoyed playing cards, crafts, music, reading and was an avid Kansas City Royals fan, watching them often.

Virginia is survived by a son, James A. Bever; daughter, Wanda Jones and husband Bob, all of Beatrice; grandchildren, Allison Giffin of Overland Park, Kansas, Ryan Happle and wife Neisha of Beatrice, Brad Jones and wife Kari of Hickman, Jamie Heusman and husband Ben of Beatrice, Brian Bever of Iowa; great grandchildren, Audrey Giffin, Alayna and Wyatt Happle, Jackson and Ryder Jones, Emily, Jasmine, Lilly and Tyson Heusman and Ethan Bever. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe on August 1, 2008; brothers, G. Robert Foreman, William A. Foreman; sister, Mary Helen Foreman; nephew, William R. Foreman; and niece, Norma Jean Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice with Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Closed casket visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM Friday, June 16, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
