Ryan Matthew Hays, 29, Lincoln, NE passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Lincoln.  He was born April 18, 1988 in Lincoln to Kevin and Sandy (Simmons) Hays.  Ryan attended elementary and middle school at Cathedral of the Risen Christ, and graduated in 2006 from Pius X High School in Lincoln.  He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Southeast Community College.  Ryan worked at Lazlo’s Bar & Grill in the Haymarket for 8 years; he was promoted to management in 2016. He was a Boy Scout growing up and a long-time member at Cathedral of the Risen Christ. Ryan enjoyed Husker football, hunting, fishing, golfing and all outdoor activities. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Kevin and Sandy Hays of Lincoln; sister, Jenna Gaston and husband Grant of Omaha; nieces, Corinne and Meredith Gaston of Omaha; girlfriend, Raeda Anderson of Hampton, GA; grandma, Mercedes Simmons of Beatrice, NE; aunts and uncles, Steven and Sharon Simmons of Florida, Dale and Deb Simmons of Beatrice, Sharon and Craig Carlson of Florida, and David and Jackie Hays of Florida; cousins, Marci Franz and husband Mike, of Minnesota, Stephanie Carlson of Minnesota, Troy Hays and wife Michelle of Florida, Lauren Simmons of Colorado, Nick Simmons and wife Candi of Beatrice, Christine Jones and husband Rick of Florida, Sarah Kwiatkowski and husband Keith of Florida, Leslie Sharp and husband Jason of Beatrice, and Michael Simmons of Florida).

Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen and Merlin Hays and grandpa, Clifford Simmons.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, (8/23/2017) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lincoln with Rev. Timothy Danek, Celebrant. A Rosary will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, (8/22/2017) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Lincoln.  A memorial has been established with the mortuary for a donation to a charity selected by the family at a later date.  No visitation, but a guestbook is available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com  Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in charge of arrangements.
