Ruth Ellen (Emal) Bitting

Ruth E. Bitting, 88, of Beatrice died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at her home.  She was born April 10, 1926 at Adams, Nebraska to Elvin and Bertha (Day) Emal.  She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1943 and was a member of the Church of Christ, Beatrice. Ruth married Willard Bitting on Oct. 21, 1959.  She enjoyed growing plants and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Jan Kennedy and husband Robert of Houston, TX, Sandra Saltzman, Barbara Hartig and husband Larry, Jacki Smith and husband Larry all of Beatrice, NE, Beverly Bitting Thompson and husband Wayne of Mason City, IA, Bonnie Bitting Collins and husband Bill of Lincoln, NE; son, Gordon Bitting and wife Patty of Beatrice; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Young and husband Harry of Waverly, NE; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Bitting (2/13/2012), parents, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel with minister LeRoy Koehler, officiating.  Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery, Pickrell, NE.  Visitation will be held at the Harman-Wright Mortuary, 9am-9pm Thursday and 9am-2pm Friday.  A memorial is established to missionary work with the mortuary in charge.  A register book is also available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for messages of condolence.  Harman-Wright Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
