Robert L. Stover

Robert L. Stover, 88 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. He was born on April 8, 1929 at Crab Orchard to Rolland and Emma (Schultz) Stover. Robert grew up around Virginia, moving to several different places. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1948. Robert served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from November 9, 1951 to November 3, 1953. He married Violet Laue on September 26, 1954 in Johnson. Robert was a truck driver for over 30 years. He enjoyed driving a truck, camping, going different places and especially taking his grandsons fishing.

Robert is survived by 5 children, Marvin Stover of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Charlene “Chuck” Corter and husband Gary of Beatrice, Maxine Hewitt of Lincoln, Wayne Stover and wife Nornita of Sioux City, Iowa, Elsie Muhr and husband Rollie of Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald Stover and wife Donna of Beatrice; sister, Marjorie Delp of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Violet on February 13, 2009; grandson, Gary Lee Corter Jr.; granddaughter, Jessica Johnson; 1 brother; and 1 sister.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 28, 2017 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice with Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard and American Legion Bitting-Norman Post #27. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
