Paul H. J. Carothers

Paul H.J. Carothers, 57, beloved son and brother, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Omaha, NE. He was born August 5, 1959 in Broken Bow, NE. He graduated in 1978 from Waverly High School in Waverly, NE. Paul attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Houston studying Engineering and Math. He enjoyed trap and skeet shooting, hunting, fishing, coin collecting, reading and history, especially naval warfare. Paul had an eye for simple, but beautiful, art and would often send small water color prints to his mother, Donna.

Survivors include his sister, Anne Carothers-Kay of Des Moines, IA; brother, Andrew Carothers and wife Lynn of Beatrice, NE and Alan Carothers and wife Christina of Lincoln, NE; several nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his father, Paul Hiram John Carothers; mother, Donna Joan Carothers; and brother-in-law, James Kay. His sister Anne Carothers-Kay was living at the time of his death but has since passed away on February 18, 2017 after a valiant fight against adenoid cystic carcinoma.

Graveside Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at the Broken Bow Township Cemetery.  Broken Bow, NE with Pastor Tyce Jensen officiating.  Memorial contributions can be made to Rocking A Ministries, Caldwell, Texas.
