Patrick Roy Riley

Patrick Riley, 69, Plymouth, NE, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society, Beatrice, NE. He was born November 1, 1947 in Oskaloosa, IA. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1966.  Pat married Barbara M. Spilker on October 1, 1966 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Beatrice. He was a member of the Bitting-Norman American Legion and the Beatrice Eagles Club. Pat served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. He worked at Enron for 20 years, then Petersen MFG in DeWitt until retiring.  Pat loved his motorcycles and enjoyed riding, telling stories, golfing, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Chris Riley and wife, Ann of Beatrice; daughter, Heather Mendoza and husband, Arturo of Council Bluffs, IA ; grandchildren, Colby and Mya Riley of Beatrice, NE; brothers-in-law, Steve Spilker and wife Toni of Eagle Rock, MO, Dave Spilker and wife Maggie of Florida; Jeff Spilker and wife Marcia of Omaha, NE; nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen (Shell) Riley; and his wife, Barbara Riley.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church, Beatrice, NE with Pastor Greg Gabriel, officiating.     No visitation but a register book is available at the funeral home and online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for messages of condolence. Memorial established to the family’s choice. Casual attire is requested and anyone that would like to ride their motorcycle is welcome to bring it to the service. Harman-Wright Mortuary and Crematory in charge of arrangements.
