Norma Jean (Rossell) Harms

Norma J. Harms, 89, Beatrice, died January 25, 2016 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born February 3, 1926 in Gage County, NE. She married George Harms on April 4, 1945 at the First Christian Church, Beatrice. Norma worked for Swift and Co. candling eggs before working for Wilke Bakery Co. and retired from Grandma’s Fruitcakes in 1991. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cardinals, angel food cake, bead work, University of Nebraska football and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Silverstrand of Lincoln, NE, Dianna Wolf, Joyce Morrow, and Debbie Meagher and husband Michael all of Beatrice; son, David Harms and wife Vickie of Beatrice; sister, Betty Tegtmeier and husband Lawrence of Beatrice; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces, including special niece Janie Carel of Beatrice. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bessie (Williss) Rossell; husband, George R. “Bob” Harms; daughter, Bonnie Biaggi; sisters, Wilma Meyer and Thelma Carre; brother, Ralph Rossell; sons-in-law, Cliff Wolf and DeWayne Morrow; grandson Jon Fritzinger.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster, officiating.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice.  Visitation will be held at the Harman-Wright Mortuary 9:00 am-9:00 pm Thursday with the family greeting friends from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Thursday evening.  A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society with the mortuary in charge.  A register book is also available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com for messages of condolences.  Harman-Wright Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
