Michael "Nose" Ames

Michael “Nose” Ames, 64 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln. He was born in Beatrice on October 7, 1953 to Kenneth and Loretta (Lawson) Ames. Mike graduated from Beatrice High School in 1972. He served his country in the United States Army from December 21, 1972 to April 24, 1974. Mike had been working for Schwisow Construction for the last 30 plus years. He was a member of the Beatrice Eagles Aerie #531, Beatrice American Legion Post #27 and the Beatrice Boat and Camper Club. Mike enjoyed working and riding his Harley, setting lines on the river, helping friends and attending his grandkids’ activities.

Mike is survived by his wife, Gail; son, Jeremy Ames and wife Shannon; grandsons, Cole and Wyatt Ames; nephews, Robert Ames and husband Matthew, Nathan King, all of Beatrice; father-in-law, Dean Robertson; and his dog, Jax. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Denny; nephew, Tom Ames; and mother-in-law, Shirley Robertson.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 PM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Vet’s Club, 701 Dorsey, Beatrice, NE 68310. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary & Crematory in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
