Loy G. Jones

Loy G. Jones, 81 years of age, of Beatrice, formerly of Auburn, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Beatrice Community Hospital & Health Center in Beatrice. He was born on December 24, 1934 in Falls City to William Sr. and Mable Jones. Loy graduated from Falls City High School in 1953. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 and the Nebraska Army National Guard for 21 years. Loy married Margaret Baker on May 10, 1980 in the Brownville Christian Church in Brownville.

Loy is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Sheril Petet of Auburn, Steve Jones and wife Becky of Wichita, Kansas; step-children, Jr. Yates and wife Lisa of Omaha, Nancy Storant and husband Bob of Lincoln, Carol Herron and husband Cash of Rock Port, Missouri, Susan Smith and husband Jerry of Faucett, Missouri; grandchildren, Andy Jones, Tony Jones, Amanda Jones, Brandon Petet and wife Pearle, Dustin Bennett, Shannon Bennett; 16 step-grandchildren; great grandchildren, Kyleigh McCarty, Easton and Mikayla Petet; 16 step-great grandchildren; and one step-great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, William; step-son, Allen Yates; and son-in-law, Joe Petet.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Beatrice with Pastor David Bigley officiating. Interment with military rites will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Sheridan Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
