Loretta M. (Wiemers) Barber

Loretta M. (Wiemers) Barber, 86 years of age, of Beatrice, formerly of Diller, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on March 21, 1930 in Odell to William and Lana (Lottman) Wiemers. Loretta graduated from Diller High School in 1947. She married Kenneth “Kenny” Barber on June 5, 1948 in Fairbury. Loretta grew up in the Diller area. After marrying Kenny, they moved away and lived several different places. Lorretta was a social worker in a nursing home in Rockville, Maryland for 16 years before moving back to Diller. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller and loved her family, extended family and researching her family tree.

Loretta is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy Harden and husband Mike of Melbourne, Florida, Debbie Oyler and husband Jeff of Chesapeake, Virginia; 3 grandchildren, Israel Harden of Melbourne, Florida, Brittany Hess and husband Sean of Suffolk, Virginia, Christine Oyler and fiancé Tyler Morgan of Chesapeake, Virginia; 6 great grandchildren, Cynthia Moss, Ocean Moss, Isabella Oyler, Sawyer Morgan, Blakely Harden, Baxter Harden; 7 siblings, Guilford Wiemers and wife Ardyce of Plano, Texas, Rev. Delmar Wiemers and wife Phyllis of Diller, Joyce Oltman of Beatrice, Gene Wiemers and wife Delores of Fremont, JoAnn Miller and husband Guy of Grand Island, Gary Wiemers and wife Barbara of McCook, Eldon Wiemers and wife Mary of North Platte; 3 sisters-in-law, Arlene Wolters of Columbus, Carol Barber of Los Angeles, California; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenny on December 30, 2013; brother-in-law, Dale Oltman; 5 brothers-in-law; and 5 sisters-in-law.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller with Pastor Mark Liscom officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Prairie Home Cemetery near Diller. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Friday, August 26, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Diller, Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice or The Kensington in Beatrice in care of the mortuary.
