Lloyd Edward Pretzer

Lloyd Edward Pretzer, 92, Beatrice, NE, died on Monday, April 20, at the Homestead House.  He was born on October 27, 1922, to Albert and Bertha (Moschel) Pretzer on a farm north of Beatrice.  In the early 1930s, the family purchased a new farm and moved south of Beatrice. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1941.  He married Delores D. Reinwald on April 27, 1952.

Lloyd began farming with his father and continued the agricultural operation with his son, Mark. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church for 74 years. He served for many years on the board of rural school district 101 and the ASCS board. A skilled woodworker, Lloyd also enjoyed collecting and polishing rocks and gems. In his retirement years, he and Delores travelled extensively. He took great pleasure in his grandchildren and their activities.

Lloyd is survived by daughter, Kathy Ramsour and husband Bruce of Aurora; sons, Mark Pretzer and wife Kathy, of Beatrice, and Keith Pretzer of Hanover, Germany; grandchildren, Melissa Cody and husband Jim of Morse Bluff, Stephanie Vadnais and husband Jesse of Lincoln, Josh Pretzer of Lincoln, Gemma Haake and husband Eric of Overland Park, KS; great-grandsons Bryce, Luke and Grant; and sister Helen Dvorak of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by wife Delores, parents, and brother, Verne Pretzer.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, at the Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice with Rev. Charles Spence.  Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, following the service. The body will lie in state at Harman-Wright Mortuary, 7th & Elk St., 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, and 9:00 A.M. until time of service of Friday.
