Linda (Barkley) Thober

Linda (Barkley) Thober, 76 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 28, 2016. She was born on September 29, 1939 in Arapahoe to James and Gertrude (McGee) Barkley. Linda graduated from Beatrice High School and then attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She married Alan “The Cowboy” Thober on August 2, 1958 in Beatrice. Linda owned and operated an Indian Jewelry Business in Beatrice. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Linda enjoyed traveling, cruises, dining with family and friends and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by 2 daughters, Kristy Thober-Rohr and husband Steve of Beatrice, Jennifer Clausen of Scottsdale, Arizona; son, Jeffrey Thober and wife Amanda of Ravenna; and 5 grandchildren, Taylor Clausen and Jamesyn, Harper, Easton and Jefferson Thober. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alan “The Cowboy” on December 14, 2010; and a brother, Gary Barkley and wife Darlene.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Prior private family interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 PM Monday, August 1, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Nebraska Chapter in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
