Lewis Terry Alday, Jr.

Lewis Terry Alday, Jr., 63 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 14, 2016 in Beatrice. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on April 8, 1953 to Lewis and Greta (Miller) Alday. Lewis worked most of his life as a mechanic starting in Mississippi. He moved to Beatrice to be near his mother and continued working as a mechanic for himself and at Burnham Motors in Beatrice. Lewis enjoyed working on old cars and restoring them, fishing, hunting, Friday night poker games with friends, grilling food for cookouts, spending time with friends and helping his friends whenever possible.

Lewis is survived by a brother, Marty Alday of Meridian, Mississippi; sister, Marsha Bowers of Filley; son, John Lyons of Meridian, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father of Meridian, Mississippi and his mother of Beatrice.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. Lewis was known to always be in blue jeans and it is the family’s request that all attendees be also. Cremation has taken place but a register book will be available to sign from 9 AM to 5 PM Friday, October 21, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the Beatrice Humane Society in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
