Leona Arlene (Williams) Overbeck

Leona Arlene (Williams) Overbeck, 82 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on Wednesday, June 1, 1932 near Beatrice to Lester and Bertha (Hill) Williams. Leona graduated from Beatrice High School. She married Clarence Overbeck on Friday, February 8, 1952. Leona was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and cooking.

Leona is survived by 2 daughters, Deb Heist and husband Maurice of Pickrell, Sandy Scheele and husband Brian of Plymouth; 4 grandsons, Logan and Britton Scheele, Spencer and Justin Heist; sister, Doris Church of Beatrice; and 2 nephews, Allen and Donald Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence on August 4, 2010; brother-in-law, Larry Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Greg Gabriel officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Lutheran School of Plymouth with Butch Morris in charge. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
