Kenneth H. Grummert, 90 years of age, of Jansen, passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Jefferson Community Health Center in Fairbury. He was born on October 5, 1926 near Jansen to Emil and Hattie (Krause) Grummert. Kenneth graduated from Fairbury High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Kenneth married Arlene Dagefoerde on June 6, 1948. He farmed in his early years, was a mechanic and also worked as an appliance repair technician. Kenneth was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, rural Plymouth, where he served in various positions and was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Jansen. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, visiting, traveling with Arlene and spending time with his family.

Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Pat Pohlmann and husband Dave of Plymouth; 3 sons, Jerry Grummert and wife Janice of Beatrice, Steven Grummert and wife Jan of Jansen, Gregg Grummert and wife Carol of Wymore; grandchildren, Jennifer VanBelle and husband Russ, Mark Pohlmann, Kurt Pohlmann and wife Shelley, Lisa Gross and husband Jim, Daniel Grummert and wife Jennifer, Ben Grummert and wife Kelsey, Nicholas Grummert and wife Nicole, Beth Strunk, Allison Grummert, Alia Taylor, Eddie Grummert, Andrew Grummert, Anthony Grummert, Brian Grummert and wife Lisa, Kevin Grummert; 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lois Koenig of Plymouth, Marcella Koca and husband Glenn of Papillion; brother, Dale Grummert of Jansen; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene on March 3, 2008; and an infant sister, Phyllis.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 6, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Plymouth with Pastor Marilyn Hasemann officiating. Interment with military rites will follow in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery, rural Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice and one hour preceding services at the church on Friday. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 AM Friday in the church basement. Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Cemetery in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
