Keith Lagene Ellison

Keith L. Ellison, 69 of Lincoln died January 1, 2017 at his home.  He was born at Odell, Nebraska on September 8, 1947. He graduated from Holmesville High School in 1965, served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1970 and graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce with a degree in accounting. Keith worked for Jantzen Sportswear Distribution Center in Lincoln, then Hy-Vee in Lincoln until he retired. He was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Lincoln. Keith enjoyed sports on TV, reading, Christmas especially helping his mom decorate, family gatherings and reunions. In his younger years he did crafts, string art, listening to music, traveling to visit family and historical places.

Survivors include his mother, Hope Nippert of Beatrice; brother, Melvin Ellison and wife Gail of Madison, AL; niece, Eliina and Dr. Jadon Whitfield of Madison, AL; nephew Kyle Ellison of Wakefield, MI; great-nieces and nephew, Jalynn, Jadiina and Chris; aunts; cousins; step-siblings and their familes. He was preceded in death by father, Lester; brother, Gayle; grandparents, Clarence & Gertrude Renz and Andrew & Mae Ellison; many aunts and uncles; step-fathers Erwin Totsch and Willard Nippert; and several step-siblings.

Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary Chapel with John Snyder officiating.  Burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorials are established the Family’s Choice with the mortuary in charge.
