Julia Anne (Hill) Milligan

Julia Anne (Hill) Milligan, 83 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. She was born on June 23, 1932 near Barnes, Kansas to Roland and Elizabeth (Martin) Hill. Julia graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Beatrice and attended cosmetology school in Beatrice. She married Loyal Milligan on September 11, 1953 in Beatrice. Julia worked for Gold’s in Lincoln and also Evelyn’s and Pat’s Beauty Shops in Beatrice. She did hair in area nursing homes and funeral homes for several years. Julia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice and the Hairdresser’s Association. She enjoyed family, cooking, baking, collecting angels and bells, having company and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Julia is survived by her husband, Loyal; 2 daughters, Lorraine McAtee of Firth, Sandra Milligan of Beatrice; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Etta Kollekowski of Hardin, Montana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Jerry McAtee; 1 great grandchild; and a brother, John Hill.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beatrice with Father Robert Barnhill officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery north of Beatrice. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
