Judith “Judy” Lynn Otto, 72 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. She was born on September 2, 1942 on a farm in Nebraska near Summerfield, Kansas to Verne and Evalyn (Hosea) McClure. Judy’s family moved to Blue Springs before she started school and was known as “Lil Doc”. In fourth grade, the family moved to Beatrice where Judy attended Central Grade School. Judy then attended Fairview Grade School. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1960. Judy worked at Lowell Beer Apothecary for many years before marrying LeDrew Otto on June 14, 1968 and having her own in home daycare. To this union were born two children, Gregory and Leigh Ann. Judy’s pleasures in life were her children, grandchildren, and daycare children. She was a mother to many.
Judy is survived by her husband LeDrew; son, Gregory and wife Elizabeth and grandson Felix, all of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Leigh Ann Bellinger and husband Douglas and grandson Logan, all of Lincoln; uncle, Ron Hosea and wife Dee of Hamilton, Montana; aunt, Elsie Huntington of the Good Samaritan Home in Beatrice; 2 brothers-in-law, Lenhart Otto and wife Andrea of Beatrice, Delmar Otto of Nashville, Tennessee; 2 sisters-in-law, Margie Otto of Lincoln, Alberta Otto of Wahoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Verne and Evalyn (Hosea) McClure.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, December 19, 2014 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor David Bigley officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in care of the mortuary, 623 Elk, Beatrice, NE 68310. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
