Joseph Dean Busing

Joseph Dean Busing, 39 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Jefferson Community Health and Life in Fairbury. He was born on November 18, 1977 in Lincoln to Dean and Sue Ann (Ozenbaugh) Busing. Joe graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1996. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he walked on to play football before enlisting in the military. Joe proudly served his country for 18 years in the United States Marine Corp, Army and National Guard where he did 6 deployments to several places including Afghanistan, Africa and Australia, receiving the Bronze Star. He married Christina (Bixby) Boller on September 21, 2013 in Filley. Joe received his Associates degree in Golf Turf Management from Southeast Community College in Beatrice and was currently the golf course superintendent at Fairbury Country Club. He was a member of American Lutheran Church in Filley and the VFW. Joe enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, Husker football, Royals baseball, Chiefs football, coaching Rexton in t-ball, swimming with Avery, watching Tyler play soccer and helping Noah with his racing.

Joe is survived by his wife, Christina; children, Rexton and Avery Busing; step-children, Tyler and Noah Boller; mother, Sue Ann Busing and Doug Walls of Lincoln; mother-in-law, Raynette Essman of Beatrice; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; and both sets of grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 2, 2017 at American Lutheran Church in Filley with Pastor Kathee Forrest officiating. Casual attire including Huskers, Chiefs and Royals apparel is suggested. Interment with full military honors will be held in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice to be used towards his children’s education in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
