John C. Scheuler, 66 years of age, of Diller passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was born on February 26, 1951 in Fairbury to Elmo and Marjorie (Grissom) Scheuler. John graduated from North Platte High School in 1969. He worked a short period of time for Union Pacific Railroad before serving in the United States Air Force. Upon return from the military, John worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and most recently retired as a cement finisher. He did missionary work in Africa for Catholic Relief Services and was planning on going back soon. John enjoyed stock car races, rock concerts and traveling.
John is survived by a sister, Susan Welch and husband John of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brothers, Steve and wife Shirley of Valdosta, Georgia, Jerry and wife Kim of Grand Island, Jeff and wife Loriann of Lead, South Dakota; nieces, Becky Oswald and husband Todd, Megan Scheuler; and nephews, Greg Welch and wife Stephanie, Brett Scheuler and wife Jessica and Travis Scheuler. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Fort McPherson Cemetery near Maxwell. There will be no visitation. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
