Harold Ray Brown

Harold Brown, 73, of Beatrice, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Beatrice Community Hospital.  He was born July 21, 1941 at Catawissa, MO. He moved to Hanover and graduated from Hanover High School. Harold married Sharon Wiens on January 8, 1966 at the Beatrice Mennonite Church. He worked for BSDC for several years and for 30 years they cared for the mentally challenged at Brown’s Room and Board Homes. He owned Brownies Bicycle Repair from 1976-1983.  Harold enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, arts, crafts, painting, and people.

Harold is survived by his son, Randy Brown and wife Kim of Beatrice, NE; grandchildren, Jackie, Jennifer and Justin Brown of Beatrice, NE; great grandchildren Brooklyn Eggert and Mali Brown; brother, Wayne Brown of St. Louis, MO; sister-in-law, Donna Stover and husband Gerald of Beatrice, NE; and brother-in-law, Robert Wiens of Spokane, WA.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon (2013), parents, George & Verena (Oppenlander) Brown and son, Jeff Brown (1968); 11 brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Beatrice Mennonite Church, Beatrice, NE. with Pastor Cindy Beecher officiating.  Family prayer service 10:15 a.m. Inurnment will be in the First Mennonite Cemetery, rural Beatrice, NE.  No visitation.  A register book is available at the funeral home and also online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.  The memorial is established to the Beatrice Mennonite Church.  Harman-Wright Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
