Gary L. Bartlett

Gary L. Bartlett, 77 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 unexpectedly at his home. He was born on April 11, 1940 in Diller to Leo and Fern (Close) Bartlett. Gary attended grade school at Ellis and high school in Beatrice. He married Pauline Weber on May 28, 1961 at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice. Gary retired as a welder for the Hoover Group after 35 years in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, volunteering with the forest service and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gary is survived his wife, Pauline; 3 daughters, Lori Bartlett and special friend Stephanie Keegan, Mary Lohmeyer and husband Mike, all of Beatrice, Jeanne Ralston and husband Bryan of Gretna; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Lohmeyer and wife Amy, Melissa Merritt and husband Chris, Jack and Kristin Ralston; 3 great grandchildren, Emma and Cole Lohmeyer, Henry Merritt; sister, Sherial Oltman and husband Duane of Lincoln; brother, Jim Bartlett of Bakersfield, California; 2 brothers-in-law, Russell Garton of Beatrice, Delbert Sokolik of Daykin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dick Bartlett; 2 brothers-in-law; and 3 sisters-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Myron Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
