Elsie Susanna (Hughes) Fink

Elsie S. Fink, 96 of Beatrice, died Tuesday, January 06, 2015 at the Beatrice Health & Rehab Center.  She was born April 14, 1918, near Carleton, NE.  She attended school at the Carleton Public School, graduating in May of 1936. Elsie married Louis Fink on Oct. 27 1937 and lived at Carleton until 1943 when they moved to Beatrice. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She had many hobbies, crafts, and was a seamstress until 1976, when she retired.  Elsie and her husband traveled extensively until 1991, spending 15 winters in southern Arizona.

Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie L. Koenig of Jerseyville, IL; son, Steven D. Fink and wife Nadene of Jerseyville, IL; son, Kenneth E. Fink and wife Pamela of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Carol J. Otto and husband Harlan “Butch” of Pickrell, NE; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Chloe (Hoffert) Hughes; husband Louis Fink; six sisters; one brother; and one great-granddaughter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beatrice with the Reverend Fr. Thomas McGuire officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Beatrice. A Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with the Reverend Fr. Robert Barnhill officiating. Visitation will be from Noon to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Harman-Wright Mortuary.  A guestbook is available online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
