Ellen L. Schopp

Ellen L. Schopp, 67, of Beatrice died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in Lincoln, NE.  She was born August 8, 1949 to John and Waunita (Cox) Schopp. In 1967, she graduated from Beatrice High School and then earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Emporia State University before receiving her degree as a Medical Technologist.  Ellen worked as a medical technologist in Enid, OK, and the NE Omaha and Lincoln V.A. hospitals.  She was a 50+year member of the Schopp-Ewing-Nispel American Legion Auxiliary Post 243 in Plymouth, NE.  Besides being with her family, she enjoyed arts, crafts, painting, traveling, genealogy, flying a plane, rabbits and cats.  Ellen will be remembered for always lending a hand whenever she could.

Ellen is survived by her Mother, Waunita Schopp of Beatrice, NE; sisters Kay Wolfe and husband Don of Kearney, NE, Carol Schopp of Columbia, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Charlie Wolfe and wife Amy of Kearney, NE and their daughter, Mackenzie of North Platte, NE; Heather Tatem of Currituck, N.C. and her sons, Trey and Brandon Haislip; Kelley Partin and husband Grant of Clayton, NC; extended sisters, Marilyn Harden of Hays, KS and Chauncey Durham of Enid, OK; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Charles Schopp; great nephew, Elijah King Haislip; grandparents, Alvin Clark & Louise Caroline Marie (Hillers) Cox, George F. & Mary Elizabeth (Gammel) Schopp.
