Earl Bartlett

Earl Bartlett, 102 years of age, of Beatrice, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at The Kensington in Beatrice. He was born on January 30, 1913 in Beatrice to William and Margaret (Grabher) Bartlett. Earl was baptized at the Ellis Methodist Church in Ellis. He graduated from Diller High School. Earl married Vivian Mann on October 6, 1934 in Beatrice. He farmed in the Ellis area until 1959 when he became a custodian at the Diller High School. In 1969, Earl and Vivian moved to Boulder, Colorado. He was a custodian at the Boulder High School in Boulder until his retirement in 1983. They moved back to Diller in 1989. Earl moved to The Kensington in Beatrice in 2009. He attended the Ellis Methodist Church in Ellis. Earl collected John Deere Tractors and salt and pepper shakers. He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Earl is survived by 2 sons, Arvid Bartlett of Winter Park, Colorado, Keith Bartlett and wife Cindy of Diller; 3 grandchildren, Colby Bartlett of Salida, Colorado, Deanna Bartlett, Sheryl Butts, both of Tabernash, Colorado; 2 sisters-in-law, Doris Menke of Aurora, Letty Phelps of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vivian Bartlett on July 3, 2002; infant son, Gale Bartlett; granddaughter, Roxanne Lynn Bartlett; sister, Mae Garton; and 2 brothers, George and Lee Bartlett.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice with Pastor Curt Magelky officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Home Cemetery near Diller. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice in care of the mortuary. Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
