Dorothy Jean (Pfingsten) Hunt

Dorothy Jean Hunt, 92, Beatrice, NE died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice.   She was born December 19, 1924 in Beatrice, NE. She graduated from BHS in 1942 and lived in the area all of her life.  She worked for E.G. Drake now General Farm Services. She married William Joseph Hunt on May 8, 1949 at First Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Beatrice. Dorothy enjoyed dancing and follow her husband’s dance band “the Lamplighters”. She loved her grandchildren, and living on the farm. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beatrice.

Survivors include her son, Randy Hunt and wife Pamela of Alma, CO; daughter, Karen Anthony of Lincoln, NE; 5 grandchildren, Alex, Dylan and Leanna Hunt, Stephen and Sarah Anthony; one great-granddaughter, McKenzie; sister, Bernice Pfingsten of Beatrice; sisters-in-law, Berniece Pfingsten of Beatrice and Marlene Glass and husband Ray of KS.  She was preceded in death by husband, William (2008); parents, Herman and Emma (Hahn) Pfingsten; son, William J. Hunt II (2013); brother, Glen Pfingsten (2008).

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 24, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beatrice with Pastor Rev. Dr. Dirk Reek officiating.  Burial will be in First Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Beatrice. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice.
